Blue Ridge Basketry and Arts.
When my husband Mike and I stumbled upon
this home we had no idea what a diamond in the ruff that we had found. It looks
a typical 2-story colonial but with a lot of history. Said to be built in 1760
as the Bodine Tavern. A lot of work was done to this home and we have worked very
hard to try to take as much as we can to original. Working over a year we were
able to open the Blue Ridge Basketry & Arts June 5th 2010. The shop offers not
only fine art gifts from myself but several artist that I admire and have become
friends through our travels. Classes will be held in the upstairs studio and
will be open for other artist to teach here along with myself. I am the only
supplier of basket weaving supplies in the 4-state area. The shop is located on
202 Town Spring St. in Hedgesville WV. We sit directly behind the historic Town
Spring. Blue Ridge Basketry is the oldest standing home and our neighbors is the
second oldest which was originally a fort. The original four tavern rooms are
for the arts and studio. The shop offers unique one of a kind gifts. Come
by and see the arts along with the history.
